The Frenchies Files is a personal blog about living with French bulldogs. It's written by Sophie Martin, who has shared her flat with two frenchies — Olive (2014–2023) and Pépin (2023–present) — for the past decade.

Who writes here

Sophie is a writer based in Lyon, France. By day she works as a technical editor. By morning, evening, and most weekends she walks Pépin, takes him to the dog park, and pretends she doesn't know who's snoring in the room next door at 3 a.m.

What you'll find

Practical posts about caring for a French bulldog, drawn from personal experience and (where applicable) backed by published veterinary research. Topics include feeding, exercise, training, health, and the small absurdities of life with a brachycephalic companion.

This is not a veterinary publication. Nothing on this site is medical advice. For health questions, see a qualified veterinarian — ideally one familiar with brachycephalic breeds.
